Mask No. 11: Successo (Success)

MAKE: All of our masks are made with 3 layers of protection: the outside, the lining, and the second lining, a soft fabric that goes closest to your face and can hold a filter inside.  We tested a number of different fabrics and then settled on a polyester blend because of its wicking properties (ie repels waters). 

We use these masks with the filter for jogging, so you can wear it all day long whether you are a first responder or are in a situation where multiple people are present, such as a retail location. 

EASY CARE: You can easily throw these into your wash and air dry them (you can machine dry them on delicate). As we change our masks daily, we wash it at the end of the day in a bowl with three dabs of handwashing soap (You can use different types of soaps but they become harder to remove and may leave residue). We then let them sit for 10 minutes as the soap dissolves the viral wall; just add enough hot water to cover the mask. Then, simply rinse it and air dry it. If you don't have enough masks, simply use a hairdryer to finish the drying process. We recommend you wash it daily to remove viruses it trapped and to use the filter for maximum protection, as this is your life. 

DESIGN STORY:  This design was captured from our best-selling tie, Successo, or Success. Our brilliant artist in San Diego, Matt Forderer was able to work with us in creating an adaptation of the Italian design that would work on a mask. In naming it, we had to keep the original name as the mask and tie are almost inseparable and you can tell they both emanate from the same inspiration. 

Here is what we wrote in the tie description; it will fill in many more details:

Successo (Success). This is the very first tie in the collection and took two months to complete. We were looking for a tie that exuded the regality of success. We are all the lucky ones. However, we also seek lives that challenge us and we look to transform our goals into realities and our challenges into stepping stones. 

We were looking to create a tie that evoked this sense of accomplishment. However, it was not as simple as adding a gold chain. It was about the many journeys, directions, and myriads of details that took us in many different directions before we were able to achieve our goals. 

The tie does not have a simple vertical or horizontal design. Life is not so simple. It takes us in various directions, through various colors and situations before we finally achieve what it is that provides our lives with meaning. It is these directions and their many colors that are reflected in this tie. The journey of so many individual parts culminating in success. Now we can walk proudly in our tie and relish what we have achieved and where the journey we created has finally chosen to put us now in a place that we can call our destination… until our next success.
